A thoughtful experience, together

Participation terms

TheUsTest is designed for two adults who choose to understand each other better. These terms explain the boundaries of the experience.

Last updated: November 2, 2026

1. Choosing to participate

You must be at least 18 years old to create or join a test. By creating or joining a session and accepting these terms, you agree to use the experience voluntarily and respectfully. The privacy notice explains how information is handled.

Invite someone who wants to participate. Each person should answer for themselves and make their own predictions. Either person may skip questions, pause, or leave. Do not pressure anyone to answer, reveal, or continue.

2. What TheUsTest does and what a score means

TheUsTest offers prompts and comparisons to support a conversation. A percentage describes agreement between predictions and a partner's stated preferences. Skipped, unanswered, and “It depends” choices do not count as comparable predictions.

Results are not a diagnosis, therapy, a scientific measurement of empathy, or advice about whether to remain in a relationship. They do not establish anyone's character, intentions, or relationship quality. Preferences can change with context, and seeing earlier answers can influence a retry.

Use discoveries as an invitation to listen and ask questions. The site and support inbox do not provide professional counseling or emergency assistance.

3. Readiness and the shared reveal

Finishing the questions takes you to a waiting room. You can review and edit before choosing Ready for reveal. If only you are ready, you can choose not ready and return to editing. When both participants are ready, that test reveals and its answers become locked.

Choosing ready authorizes your structured choices to become part of the shared results when your partner also chooses ready. Do not publish or share your partner's personal answers without their permission.

4. Invitations, access, and test history

A session is intended for two participants. Keep invitation and recovery links private, and use your own participant access. The shared site password is not a substitute for that access. We may restrict or revoke access that is misused.

Browser access may not carry over to another device, browser, or domain. Contact support if you lose it; recovery depends on being able to verify the request and is not guaranteed.

Retries create separately numbered tests without overwriting revealed answers. History remains subject to session expiry and deletion. Either participant can delete the shared session, which removes access for both. TheUsTest is not a permanent archive; see the expiry and deletion details.

5. Respectful use

  • Do not impersonate another participant or use someone else's private access.
  • Do not use the service to harass, coerce, threaten, or deceive someone.
  • Do not attempt to bypass access controls, obtain other sessions' information, or disrupt the site.
  • Do not submit unlawful material or use automated activity that interferes with the experience.

We may limit access to protect participants or the service when these boundaries are not respected.

6. Your information and the site's content

You remain responsible for the information you choose to enter. You allow TheUsTest to store and process it to provide the experience and the sharing you authorize, as described in the privacy notice.

You may use the site's questions, explanations, and artwork as part of your personal experience. This does not grant permission to reproduce or resell the service, its branding, or its content as your own.

7. Availability and changes

We work to keep the experience useful, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or a particular personal or relationship outcome. Features may change or become unavailable. Nothing in these terms removes rights or protections that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.

We may revise these terms as the service changes. The updated date appears at the top of this page. If you do not agree with the terms, do not create or join a new test.

8. Contact and help

For questions about these terms or help with a session, email help@theustest.com. Please describe the issue without sending passwords, private recovery links, or your partner's answers.
